Quietly tying the Pheasant Tail Nymph in the garage. If I had to chose only one nymph pattern to fish, the Pheasant Tail Nymph is definitely the one I would pick. This fly pattern imitate a number of nymph stage food source for trout. In this video we tied a size 14 Pheasant Tail Nymph. The original pattern uses peacock herl for the thorax of the fly, but we replaced it with rabbitron dubbing to imitate the legs of the bug. You can also tie this in different colors, try to match what is in you local waters.
