I consider this one of my best flies for trout fishing. One of my favorite flies is the Blowtorch, the Jig fly version works well on tight line nymphing, you can get deep with this fly while minimizing the chances of snagging the bottom. The Tungsten bead makes it heavy on its own but if you want to, you can definitely add more weight by wrapping lead free wire on the hook shank. The soft hackle provides movement that mimics legs, while the yarn and fluorescent orange thread acts has hotspots. See the recipe below.
