AUSTIN, TX | The Window Seat

Trade shows aren't my favorite thing in the world but it's a great way to connect with like-minded people in the industry. Plus Austin, TX is a city I've wanted to visit for quite some time for its food, culture, etc. So with the support of Altra Footwear, my co-director and I flew out to premiere our film "Leadman: The Dave Mackey Story" about Altra and Camelbak athlete Dave Mackey at The Running Event - an annual running trade show in which we chronicle his unfortunate accident that ultimately led to the painful decision to amputate his leg. His journey back is highlighted by the Leadville 100 and the overall Leadman Series. The Running Event was overall a great experience where you get to rub shoulders with the rock stars of our sport like Meb, Desi, Jurek and countless others.
