Why did I lose weight? (Part 3/5) Not for running. Not for aesthetics. Not for approval. It would be easier to stay silent. In fact staying quiet is SO easy, I’ve done it for 41 years. But silence is comfortable… and comfort can be dangerous. I did it because a doctor told me my health trajectory was dangerous and somehow, my running benefitted. Heart disease is the leading cause of death worldwide. I carry real risk factors: high cholesterol and a strong family history of diabetes, strokes, and heart disease. This isn’t theory for me — it’s my reality if I do nothing. I beg you runners, don’t settle for silence on this matter. This isn’t about likes, comments, or running. This is about being healthily alive. This is bigger than running. And if this series costs me followers but helps even a few people take control of their health — I’ll stand by it. Because comfort never changed a life.
