Weight-Loss comes with risks I know promised this as part 3 of the 5-part series but hey! This is my lived experience, not a rulebook. Just thought I’d share the other side of the coin as promised. I know that weight loss, food, and bodies can be triggering. I’m sharing this with empathy, not ego. Here’s the uncomfortable truth 👇 You cannot outrun under-fuelling. What I felt: • Low energy (running yes, parenting… sometimes no) • Slower recovery - way beyond DOMS • A tricky food mindset - this is potentially the worst part • Higher injury risk - thankfully dodged this bullet • Mood & hormone swings - I didn’t see it at the time • A real social cost - more “no” than “yes” to social plans This isn’t anti-weight loss because I have experienced its benefits first hand but it’s more pro-health. Always.
