What happens when an award-winning artist spends 48 hours painting the rarest residents of Zoo Knoxville? From a custom-built brush for a Gibbon to a "slow-blink" with a Malayan Tiger, this is the story behind the wildlife art. To say it’s a dream to paint wild animals to support conservation efforts is a massive understatement. In this journey, I’m taking you behind the easel at Zoo Knoxville to meet Georgie, a White-Handed Gibbon, and Jango, a Malayan Tiger. As a professional artist with a degree in Biology, my goal isn't just to paint a portrait—it’s to capture the animal's soul.
