Why The One-Legged 'Lefty' Bicycle Fork is So Strong!

The Lefty is a one legged, upside down suspension "fork" made by Cannondale. Through its 8 iterations, the Lefty has sported up to 160mm of travel, but in recent years has remained for XC only. The Lefty "Ocho" featured in the video has 110mm of travel and is designed specifically for cross country. Some people won't even call the Lefty a "fork" since it looks more like a strut. But the Lefty competes toe to toe with other high end XC forks on the trail due to its stiffness and smooth operation. Despite its cost, difficulty of service, and proprietary parts, the Lefty is cool and unique enough to still exist. I would consider building a custom XC bike just to rock one.
