Why We Can't Let Our Kids Bike to School (*or even walk)

Dan Cameron takes me on a bicycle ride through his family's neighbourhood in London, Ontario, where he shows us the real dangers kids and families face every day just trying to walk or bike to school. The streets are filled with speeding cars and bad design, which makes these “neighbourhood streets” unsafe for everyone (yeah, even drivers). Simple solutions exist that could make a huge difference, like “School Streets,”... so Dan talks quite extensively about these. The TL;DW is closing just a few streets (or even just one) around school drop-off zones to cars during drop-off times. But NIMBYs hated this idea because carbrain runs deep in London, Ontario.
