In this TechTalk I rolled in late (like, hilariously late) and immediately got hit with the most “modern streaming platform” problem ever: it auto-generated a vertically cropped dual stream that basically cut us out of the frame. Once it’s on, you can’t even turn it off. So yeah—if you were watching the short/vertical version, you probably got a beautiful shot of the dead center of the screen while we tried to lean into frame like idiots. From there we went full real-life mode: flooding in Washington is absolutely nuts right now. I’m lucky because I’m on a hill, but the town is basically an island—every exit is flooded. I talked about how insane it is seeing places flood that never used to, observation decks underwater, farmland turning into lakes, and how people keep rebuilding in flood plains like it’s a yearly subscription service. We also got into some practical life hacks (like how fire department transport can save you from getting wrecked by for-profit ambulance bills), plus a little tangent on fitness/weightlifting, back injuries, and why “buy nice or buy twice” applies to consoles too—like if you don’t already have a PS5, just get the best one you can afford instead of waiting forever.
