About This Video

In this TechTalk I’m basically asking the question everybody keeps dancing around: is AI turning into the next bubble, and are we all about to pay for it—literally. I get into how AI doesn’t just jack up prices on GPUs, it hits electricity, local infrastructure, and even the stuff you don’t see—like data center demand pushing costs out to regular people. And yeah, I’m calling it: 2026 is going to be a blood bath for consumers, especially for RAM and GPUs, because the industry is pivoting hard to data center and AI workloads. We also go deep on what’s happening with memory—why ECC RAM is suddenly a big deal, why Crucial (consumer memory) getting squeezed makes sense, and what ECC actually does (error correction, parity/check bits, detecting single-bit vs double-bit errors). Houston even busts out physical RAM sticks as visual aids, which was awesome. Then we get into the messy part: I use AI every day, and I still think it’s going to mess humanity up if we don’t get our heads on straight. The hype is overblown, the burn rate is insane, and none of these companies can slow down without getting eaten alive—so they keep feeding the snake. OpenAI, Microsoft, Nvidia, Oracle… it’s a weird self-investment loop, and if it pops, it’s going to be wild.
