Smoked Baked Beans Recipe 1 Tbsp Olive oil 1 lb Ground Beef (93% lean) 1 med. onion diced (Vidalia sweet onion) or standard white 1 sm. red bell pepper diced 1 sm. yellow or orange bell pepper diced 1 sm. green bell pepper diced 1Tbsp Nature’s Seasoning 1 tsp onion powder (*note 1) 3 Tbsp yellow mustard 1 tsp garlic powder (*note 1) ½ tsp black pepper¼ cup Mollasses/Honey/Maple Syrup (*note 2) ¼ cup brown sugar 3 med cans Bush’s Vegetarian Baked Beans 2 sm. bottles Sweet Baby Ray’s Spicy BBQ sauce (*note 3) 2 Tbsp Smokey Heat seasoning (*note 4) 1 tsp Accent *Note 1 – Additional tablespoon of Nature’s Seasoning may be used in lieu of garlic and onion powder *Note 2 – Molasses, honey, maple syrup may be used in combination of your choice. I typically will use at least two or the three. Sometimes I may use more than a ¼ cup. I am referring to a total of a ¼ cup combined. I would wait to taste them until you are just about to put them in the oven or on the grill to determine if you want to add more. *Note 3 – You may want to use 1 sm bottle of Spicy and 1 small bottle of Hickory Brown Sugar BBQ sauce instead of using the 2 bottles of Spicy. *Note 4 – You can add more or less Smokey Heat seasoning depending on just how spicy you want them to be. Again I would taste the beans right before the oven or grill to determine if you want to add more. After tasting give it a minute or so before you add more. The spice tends to sneak up on you if you are hasty. * 1. Add the Olive Oil and Diced Onions to a large pan. Sautee on medium-high heat until onions begin to turn translucent. 2. Add Ground Beef and brown. 3. Drain excess fat. 4. Add spices (Nature’s Seasoning, onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper). 5. Stir and add Bell Peppers and Accent. 6. Sautee for 1 minute or until bell peppers are softened to your satisfaction. I prefer them to still be somewhat firm, so I won’t usually go for more than 1 minute. 7. Add Beans, BBQ sauce, Molasses/Honey/Maple Syrup, Brown Sugar, Mustard, and Smokey Heat 8. Stir and transfer to baking pan baking at 400degrees for 20-30 minutes or until the edges begin to caramelize ========================================== Follow BACKYARD BBQ-R on Social Media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/BackyardBbqR/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/backyard_bbq_r/ ==========================================
