Solo Hiking The Cumbria Way - Day 3 - I LOVE the Northern Lake District!

This is the final day of thru hiking the Cumbria Way. After wild camping on top of the Wainwright summit Great Calva (690m), it was time to descend back onto the Cumbrian Way to start my final days solo hiking. Back on the hiking trail, I made my way towards the official highest part of the Cumbria Way, High Peak (658m). This eastern route is known as the Mountain Route. There are a couple of nice campsites here. After Caldbeck I had a nightmare with diversions due to parts of the route being closed due to erosion. This set me back as the diversion was longer and more difficult too. I finally reach Carlisle, the official end to the Cumbria Way. I was tired. 3 long, tough days. However, it was an amazing experience and a route that I would highly recommend. For those who are considering the hiking trail, I would go for 5 days and stay at Coniston, Elterwater / Chapel Stile, Keswick and Caldbeck.
