Here is a review of Decathlon's Ultralight Trekking Backpack. This is the Forclaz MT900 UL Backpack. It's £129 and weighs just 1.3kg. The Forclaz MT 900 UL backpacking bag is 50L but has an additional 10L expansion making it a 60L backpack. I really rate Decathlon backpacking gear and this is no exception. The Forclaz MT 900 backpack has got some great features suited for wild camping. My favourite's are the 2 way zip, the deep pockets and the integrated waterproof cover. My only negative would be the Decathlon backpack's weight limit. They say 12kg which is about right. For a multiday trip I personally would want to be around 10kg (excluding water) to remain comfy. Buy from Decathlon here: https://tidd.ly/3N1KUsq This is what they say: A lightweight and durable backpack for men looking for peak performance in pursuit of a FKT on long-distance hiking trails. The breathable back structure adds to the comfort when moving at speed. Specification: Dimensions Height: 65cm, Width: 35cm, Depth: 35 cm Weight 1.3 kg All inclusive. Weight of the removable rain cover 100g. Weight of the removable lid 100g. i.e. 1.1 kg in simple mode! AIR design Inspired by its sister, the MT500 AIR, this bag replicates many of the features of its ventilated back structure with a mesh fabric so that the back can breathe more and dry quickly. Capacity 50 L volume +10 L extension. The volume of each backpack is measured using a standardised method. we use small balls to fill the main compartment as well as each pocket. The balls are then emptied into a graduated container in order to determine the equivalent volume in litres, with a margin of error of just a few %. How to use the multi-use straps? The new MT500 AIR and MT900 UL series of trekking backpacks have two straps with open aluminium buckles (on the lower part of the bag). These straps let you hook on a tent or mattress under the bag or on the barrel. If not in use, these straps can be stored (by pushing them inside) in the hidden pocket intended for this or detached and used elsewhere with the lark's head knot buckle. Complementary accessories To make your MT900 UL bag easier to use, check out our storage accessories, repair buckles or hanging straps on our website. Recommended carry weight According to the project for which this backpack was designed, we recommend you don’t load it above 12 kg. Then you can benefit from all its features. Moreover, it’s not recommended to carry a load greater than 20-25% of your own weight and put too much pressure on your back. Materials Main fabric in 100D RS polyamide (ripstop = additional resistance to tearing), reinforced bag bottom (210D RS) Warranty 10 years If you are into your hiking, backpacking and wild camping please SUBSCRIBE @BackpackingUK Thanks, Andy. #decathlon #forclaz #backpacking
