This week I was lucky to visit Decathlon's mountaineering brand Simond. If you are not familiar with their mountaineering and climbing gear their equipment was used in the first summit of Annapurna and Everest. Simond has a rich history and remains in the Chamonix Mont Blanc region of France in the Alps. Simond continue to make their metal products in house and also make special mountain equipment to order. Standard Simond gear includes all the usual technical hiking gear clothing but also includes mountaineering gear such as mountain boots, crampons, ice axes, carabiners, ropes, and camping gear such as mountain tents, down sleeping bags, etc, etc. Decathlon will be moving some of their technical gear to the Simond brand so keep a closer look out for Simond in the future as their brand is extremely reputable and already well known within the mountaineer and climb community. If you are interested in hiking, backpacking and wild camping please SUBSCRIBE @BackpackingUK Thanks, Andy #simond #mountaineering #climbing
