Welcome to my Nortent Vern 1 tent review. This is a very unique backpacking tent. It's a solo tent that has 2 doors on one side. It's a 4 season tent that weighs 1.7kg plus 180 grams for the optional crossing pole. Nortent comes from Norway and is meant for all season 1 person tent use. Personally, I love European tents as they are built to withstand our weather conditions be it hot, cold, windy or snowy. The quality of this tent is top notch and I love the little features like the Dyneema reinforced guy line points to the ventilation options above the doors, on the door and at the ends of the tent. This tent is suited to tall people. There is a huge amount of internal length to the point where you can still put gear above, below and to the side of your long sleeping pad. The ends of the tent uses small alloy poles to reduce the footprint of the tent. The fabric can be raised to increase ventilation too. Initially it's a tricky tent to pitch perfectly but after a few attempts it goes up quickly and easy and the fabric is nice and taut. I really like the 14 heavy duty pegs which help the tent withstand some seriously adverse weather conditions when wild camping. Overall, we are really impressed. The differences in design really do add to the useability of the tent throughout the year. The ventilation options are great and help reduce the well known condensation issues on solo backpacking tents. $400 plus taxes or £493 is a good price for a tent like this. It's certainly in the same league as the more expensive tent Brands.
