For my arrangement, I used a succulent/cactus/bonsai-style soil because I really wanted that extra drainage. The mix I used is chunky with lots of rocks and bits, which helps keep things from staying wet for too long. Since I was working with mostly unrooted cuttings, good drainage was a must.
