Balwoogongyang is a Korean Buddhist practice where eating itself becomes a form of meditation. At 5am, the nuns gather in the temple and eat in silence from four bowls, following a specific ritual, and taking only what they will eat. At the end, they drink the rinse water from the last cup. In the video, Soo Min Kim learns this technique directly from the Venerable Sunjae.
