‘I’ve operated on children targeted by drones in Gaza,’ British surgeon says | BBC News

A new report by the United Nations has accused Israel of deliberately targeting Palestinian children, resulting in genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes in the Gaza Strip, as well as war crimes in the occupied West Bank. The report alleges that Israeli authorities and security forces have deliberately carried out acts inflicting death and severe bodily and mental harm on hundreds of thousands of Palestinian children, and that the killings continued even after last October’s ceasefire in Gaza. Israel’s Foreign Ministry has responded, saying it utterly rejects the commission’s report, calling it “a libellous sham” and “a propaganda piece as outrageous as its previous ones.” Dr Nizam Mamode is a surgeon who has recently returned from Gaza, and he told the BBC about his experiences working and operating in Gaza, including with children.
