Here's a technique I've never seen before, so I thought I'd make a video about it to share. If you try it for yourself, expect some trial and error due to the geometry of router bits and guide bushing you have available to you. I mostly experienced the router bits not being able to get into tight corners and I would adjust my designs from there. It may look like I'm making duplicate templates from the Bondo plug and you're absolutely right. I wanted to make a copy in the case the Bondo template gets damaged while routing the solid wood. I would say the most important aspect of this is to make sure you label your template top and bottom if you have a rather symmetrical design, you'd hate to have your workpiece covered in glue trying to put it the wrong way into the hole.
