About This Video

Since getting the RØDECaster Pro II and the RØDECaster DUO, they’ve become a super important part of my setup. They’re easy to use, packed with features, and they sound awesome—even though, yeah, there are a couple quirks I wish were tweaked. In this video I’m talking about a new (currently beta) firmware update from RØDE that adds a bunch of useful stuff, including Wireless PRO compatibility, more control over sound pad levels, and more customization for ducking. But the big headline is this: you can now plug compatible RØDE USB microphones directly into the USB2 port on the RØDECaster Pro II or DUO. I honestly wasn’t sure this was ever going to happen, because I’ve gotten that question constantly—especially around my Streamer X coverage. I demo it by recording straight into the DUO using the RØDE XDM-100 (a USB-only mic), and I also swap to the PodMic USB to show it working with DSP and fader assignment. I also cover beta install notes, latency-free monitoring tips, and an important PodMic USB limitation: you can’t use its USB and XLR connections at the same time (at least right now).
