At NAB 2024 I grabbed a quick run-and-gun interview with Ryan from RØDE, and we did an initial real-world test of the new RØDE Interview Pro. I’m literally using the mic the way it’s intended—handheld, on a show floor, straight into a Series IV wireless receiver on the camera—so you can hear what it’s doing in an actual interview scenario instead of a perfectly controlled studio demo. Ryan breaks down why the Interview Pro is a big deal in the Series IV ecosystem: it’ll transmit up to 200 meters line-of-sight to a bunch of RØDE receivers (Wireless PRO, RØDECaster Duo, RØDECaster Pro II, Wireless ME, Wireless GO II, and more). The standout for me is the onboard recording with 32-bit float. As a one-person crew, that’s huge—if I mess up gain on the receiver/camera or someone suddenly gets loud/quiet, I’ve got a backup file with the full dynamic range to fix in post. We also touch on workflow stuff like timecode support when paired with the Wireless PRO receiver, plus the overall build quality (light, compact, but still feels “RØDE”).
