So you may have heard by now that LinkedIn has made a new rule where you cannot send more than 100 LinkedIn invitations a week. Otherwise, you’ll get the "You've reached the weekly invitation limit" warning from LinkedIn. So what can you do about this? Is LinkedIn still a good marketing channel to generate leads in 2021? 🛠 Resources 🛠 - 📝 Free Masterclass on the 5 Steps to Predictable Appointments Each Month: http://www.salesappointmentsmasterclass.com - 📊 My Recommended Best Funnel Building Software: https://www.skylinesocial.com/kartra - 💻 How to send more than 100 invites on LinkedIn using Linked Helper: https://linkedhelper.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360015367499-I-m-getting-You-ve-reached-the-weekly-invitation-limit-warning-from-LinkedIn So, before I go through the how to adapt to these new Linkedin changes… Let me go through traditionally how most people are using LinkedIn to generate leads. So, the first thing you do is… 1 - Find potential clients to connect with 2- Ask if they want to connect 3- When they connect back ask if they want to see a free video you’ve recorded (NOT ask if they want to have an appointment) 4- If they say yes, send them the link to the video and if they like what they hear in the video then they schedule a call But the problem is, NOW you can only connect to 100 a week. You can’t connect to 700/week any more. So, what can you do about it? Well, fortunately, earlier this year, we actually changed the strategy we use slightly. And we reduced the number of steps needed to generate a lead. So instead of asking people to connect and THEN send them the message asking if they want to see the video, in January of this year, we changed it so that in the first initial message we ask them if they want to watch the video to connect. And if they’re not interested, then not to connect. This means we only connect with people interested in watching the video. So instead of getting typically getting 21 leads say yes to the video, we now get 140 new leads say yes to the video. So this ONE tweak to the LinkedIn strategy got our client 5-6x more leads. So, now that LinkedIn have made this change, it makes even more sense to get to the point when connecting to people and reduce the number of steps it takes to generate a lead. So, the first thing I recommend that you do is to… Tell people the REAL reason why you’re connecting to them This one tweak on it’s own will get you more leads… Now, this doesn’t change the fact that LinkedIn still changed how many invites you can send. Now that you can only invite 100/week (instead of 100/day), it’s obviously going to still affect the numbers. So, what else can you do? Well, as of recording this video, here are a few more simple solutions: 1. You can send MORE than 100 invites a week IF you know their email address. So Linked Helper released a really good article on how you can do this, which I’ll link to in the description. But in short, you can use a tool call Snov.io to find people’s email address that you’re not yet connected to on LinkedIn and you can invite them that way. The only downside to this strategy, is that you can’t personalize the invitation message. So if you do this, when they accept the connection request, that’s when you’ll need to ask if they want to see that free video or whatever the next step may be in your sales process. 2. Use more than one LinkedIn account So if you have more team members or employees who work with you and they have a linkedin account but don’t use it for anything, you can use their LinkedIn account to reach out to more people. So if you have two linkedin accounts, you can send 200 invites a week for your company. It’s not a perfect solution, but it can work. 3. Focus on quality rather than quantity Since now you can only invite a smaller number of people, spend more time picking and choosing who exactly you want to speak to. Focus on really finding exactly the type of clients you want, rather than being more generic and just connecting to anyone. 4. Don’t rely on LinkedIn on it’s own to generate leads If you’re looking for free or low cost ways to generate leads, one of my favorite methods is through SEO - Search Engine Optimization. In other words, creating content that will rank higher on Google related to keywords for the services you provide your clients Now if there are any more changes with LinkedIn, I’ll be sure to let you know.
