One Year YouTube Anniversary!!

It's been one year since I uploaded my first video to this channel and I have to say I have learned a lot about the process, video recording, editing, camera angles etc. However, it took an email from YouTube on the eve before my one year anniversary that basically said, YouTube has changed it's policies and I must now have 1000 subscribers in order to be a monetized channel. At first I was ticked off, why did they change the rules of the game? This sucks! All of sudden I felt an urgency to try and get 1000 subscribers before my 30 day deadline ended. Then I stopped, took a breath and ask myself one question. Why am I doing YouTube videos? And to me, it's not about how many subscribers I have as long as the ones I do have truly benefit from watching my videos. It's not about making money on ads, I make things for a living. I did that before YouTube and I'm certain it's something I will always do regardless whether I video it or not. I make videos because I enjoy being a part of a community of creators. I enjoy making and sharing videos because I hope that I might inspire someone to start creating and making their own projects. I make videos because I enjoy the connection with like minded people. So with that being said, thank you to all of my subscribers for expressing interest in making and creating. It's a tribe thing and we are a tribe of makers, creators, inventors, thinkers and out of the box do our own thing kinda community. So here's to you! Thanks for taking the time to watch my video. For as long as I can remember, I have always liked making things. And for the most part I am completely self taught. Good ole trial and error was and still is my teacher.
