A Vancouver icon - Richmond Olympic Oval, 2008. Designed by Cannon Design the long-span timber roof was an ambitious experiment at the time. Built for the 2010 Winter Olympics, it helped demonstrate what engineered wood could do at a civic scale and played a key role in accelerating the mass timber movement that followed. Engineering by Fast & Epp Architecture by Cannon Design Construction by Dominion Fairmile Construction Ltd.
