The cycle of a reef tank can take some time, especially the nitrification bacteria. One thing I learn with Reef aquarium is being patient, so we will wait until the water seems not toxic for living creatures. I also how to aquascape a small saltwater aquarium with limited height. The key of aquascaping a small aquarium is living space for corals to grow, they will make the scape overtime. Because I use black sand in this nano marine tank, I avoided to use pure Marco rock that has a white appearance, so I went with the Caribsea LifeRock that are cover with paint and small pebble that mimic real Live rock.
