today I'm starting a new language :)) as some of you have guessed it on my telegram channel (which you should join btw, link below), the language I'll be studying is Catalán. I'll be moving to Barcelona in a few months and, so far, I'm planning to stay there long-term, so learning Catalán just makes sense. You can definitely get around with just Spanish, but the reality is that - 95% of the population understands the language and around 75% of the population speaks it daily. Even if Spanish is used more often in the center, Catalán is still very much alive (with 10 million native speakers) and is part of the culture. Also, every time I've been in Barcelona, I've heard Catalán being spoken around me.
