I analysed my golf swing...and the results were MUCH worse than I thought!

As a 7-handicap amateur golfer, I can play golf to an okay level, but after sitting down to do a full analysis of my golf swing, I realised just how many issues I’ve been masking over the years. My short game and putting skills really have been papering over the cracks for a years, and it's time to make some improvements. In this video, I use the Skillest golf app to break down my 8-iron swing from both down-the-line and face-on views. I’m currently starting the "Pure Your Irons" course by Me and My Golf as part of my Journey to Scratch series (link below), and this analysis is of my golf swing as it is, before I begin the hard work of rebuilding my fundamentals. What I found in this analysis: - Setup Struggles: Poor posture (my "desk worker" hunch) and reaching for the ball. - The Over-swing: My 8-iron is going way past parallel—it’s actually wild to see. - Reverse Spine Angle: Why I’m losing power and consistency at the top. - The Steep Downswing: High-speed footage shows just how steep I’m coming into the ball. - Early Extension & Impact: Why I’m "holding on" to the face and failing to get proper shaft lean at impact. I’m being brutally honest about these flaws because I want to see if I can actually fix them as part of my swing re-work. I’m not a professional, so I'd like to hear from you.
