The Black Lion Audio Bluey is one of the first alternatives I’d point you to if you want an 1176-style compressor with a more aggressive attitude. It’s in the same general ballpark as the WA76 price-wise, but the tonality is different (Blue Stripe inspired), and a lot of people prefer that vibe.
