What is FAA Unmanned Traffic Management UTM for Drones? Advancing Remote ID

The FAA Advances the UTM System at the Peril of the UAV Hobbyist. Wanna Play? Gotta Pay! Remote ID was just the start and makes more sense now that the details of the UTM are becoming known. It's not about safety, per se, but more about clearing out the airspace below 400 feet AGL for the BVLOS delivery services and sky taxis. Can't have some toy crashing into an Amazon delivery drone, now can we? And they have a schedule to keep! Will 107 licensed pilots have a place in this scheme? I think so, at least to some extent, but at what cost? The UTM also extends the FAAs reach by deputizing the general public, and gets it funded by the people who access the airspace, brilliant! This will be REALLY interesting how this turns out, but I can't help but think that delivery services just aren't going to work out, nor flying taxis. Maybe I'm way off here but I think this "hockey stick" chart of UAV use is a pipe dream, especially after Covid, Remote ID and DJI getting targeted by the US government.
