All right, travelers — in this video I do a real unboxing and first test of the AlphaTheta Chordcat (yeah, first contact, no script, no filter). I literally just received it in the studio, opened the box, and went straight into a quick jam to see if it’s actually inspiring or if it’s just another gadget. First impression: it’s small, compact, super light, and it already looks like a fun machine to play — pads, a sequencer section, and the chord section right there. After I drop in six AA batteries and power it up, I check the connectivity (MIDI in/out, phones, volume, USB power) and plug in audio. Then I load the first kit and start listening: drums first, then I play with muting/unmuting, bring in chords, and finally the bass. The takeaway from this first run is simple: the drum and bass sound is nice, and even with basic mutes you can already create movement fast.
