Bouldering Fontainebleau: Trying the Big Five (and Eating Pastries)

This day of bouldering in Fontainebleau spans classic circuits, historic boulder problems, and a close run at one of the Big Five. Cold November conditions, sandstone slopers, and way too many French pastries made for a perfect express trip for climbing in Cuvier Rempart and Cuvier Est, sampling Fontainebleau circuit boulders, revisiting classics like Le Toit du Cul de Chien 7A, and pushing into harder terrain with attempts on Fourmis Rouges 7C alongside other well-known Fontainebleau boulder problems. Between freezing temps, Fontainebleau ethics, and learning to trust my feet on Font-style slabs and slopers, this session captures what bouldering in Fontainebleau actually feels like: humbling, technical, beautiful, and always unfinished!
