The Seven kinds of plastic classifications and toxicity. Which one is best for you? How to tell one from another. What you can do to reduce the toxicity in your body from these plastics. Post Video Note: Class 5, PP, Polypropylene, is BPA free and considered medical grade PET plastic. At least that is what it says when you look it up. Further investigation shows that all class 1 to 6 can be BPA free. It's of note that older bottles of class 3 and 7 may not be BPA free. Class 7 can be BPA free but only if its stated that the container is BPA free. BPA aside, toxicity of plastics in general has not been studied enough to come to any conclusions. Even though class 1 PET plastic is considered most safe to drink, some sources state that it is the most toxic of plastic type. It's so toxic that it can't be recycled into class 1 PET plastic. It must be recycled into class 7 plastic, which makes up the most toxic of all the plastics out there. A second video on Toxic Plastic is in the works.
