I flew to the northernmost town on earth and I can't believe I'm here! It is called Longyearbyen in Svalbard, which is an arctic island that belongs to Norway. I am literally the furthest north that you can fly, as Svalbard has the world's northernmost airport. It's an incredible place to be with so much uniqueness. Currently there is no sunlight so it is dark 24 hours a day. There are some crazy laws here too. But most of all, Svalbard is known for its huge population of Polar Bears. In fact, there are more polar bears here than people! And yes, they do pose a genuine threat, so the locals take precautionary measures where possible. The flight to get to Svalbard was an amazing experience too, as I watched the sun disappear over the horizon, knowing I would not see it again the following day. I hope you enjoy this travel episode to Longyearbyen, Svalbard!
