This is a very basic and easy to make cold process soap. This soap recipe needs to cure for at least 30 days. Follow the directions. ALWAYS ADD THE LYE TO THE WATER - NEVER the other way around. ALWAYS WEAR PROTECTIVE GEAR - Goggle and gloves - Lye can burn your skin. Single Batch - will fill one soap mold Double Batch - will fill two soap molds Basic Soap Recipe - single batch that will fill one, 1.24L soap molds 450 g Olive Oil (any olive oil is fine) 180 g Coconut Oil 180 g Shea Butter 90 g Castor Oil 315 g Water (tap is fine but I use distilled) 122 g Lye (aka Caustic Soda or Sodium Hydroxide) OPTIONAL VARIATIONS: GINGER-TURMERIC-HONEY - Recipe For a double batch of basic soap recipe. **Half this if you are only making one soap molds worth.** 1 tbsp - Ground dried Turmeric 1 tbsp - Ground dried Ginger 1.5 tbsp - honey Mix together and add to basic soap recipe at trace. TEA TREE FACIAL BAR - Recipe For a double batch of basic soap recipe. **Half this if you are only making one soap molds worth.** 4 tbsp Ground Oatmeal 25 grams Eucalyptus Essential Oil 25 grams Lavender Essential Oil 12.5 grams Tea Tree Oil Let your soap rest in the soap mold for 1-2 days. Then, turn out the soap, cut in to bars and leave it in a well ventilated area for 1-2 months. Soap should be solid and dried right through.
