Visit Adventure Rig here: https://goo.gl/OzQc0M This winter for resort skiing I’ve been super psyched on the Women’s Firefall Insulated Jacket by Mountain Hardwear. While we haven’t had the most amazing winter here in Colorado pow-wise, it still has been cold and I’ve been happy to have an insulated jacket. I’m a pretty cold person in general so when I’m skiing at the resort, my layers are typically insulated. The Firefall is built with synthetic insulation and a two-layer waterproof shell fabric. It is the perfect single-quiver jacket if you always ride with insulation. I have my Firefall paired with the Women’s Boundary Line Gore-Tex Insulated Bibs and it’s a perfect combo. Most notably, the Firefall won’t break the bank. Sometimes I find that when companies sell a less expensive jacket, they skimp on a lot of important small details to get the cost down. That is not the case at all with the Firefall. It has every feature I need while staying at an approachable price point. With a helmet-compatible (yet super adjustable so not to get in your face) hood, underarm zips for airflow, and every pocket you could need, the Firefall has yet to disappoint. The collar, when zipped up, offers a good amount of protection from the elements but is not restricting. As far as fit goes, I would say that the Firefall is oversized. If you’re looking for a more fitted fit, definitely size down. I personally like the oversized, long, baggy fit for this jacket but I easily could’ve sized down. I’m 5’10 and 155 pounds and wearing the size large here. The Firefall is long enough to protect you from those frozen or wet lift rides up. If you’re looking for a perfect winter jacket for skiing or riding, I highly recommend the Firefall Insulated Jacket. The material is comfortable yet robust so it will withstand some abuse. The insulation takes the edge off of those frigidly cold days and the two-layer waterproof shell is sure to keep you dry on even the snowiest of pow days. Most prominently, it’s affordable.  *We received this gear for free in exchange for a review, however, it’s important to know that all thoughts are our own.
