Scuba Diving fins, there are so many different fins all at different prices, which ones should you buy? The two most important things when buying fins are comfort and efficiency. Adreno's Becky talks us through the specifics of what you need to look for before you buy your next set of fins. When you're trying on your scuba diving fins, you want to make sure you have a snug fit that isn't going to pinch you or give you cramps. As for efficiency, the rule of thumb is that efficiency is determined by how long they are, how stiff they are and their design. Divers with strong leg muscles should use big stiff thins to get through the water. If you're a bit smaller and feel that you're not a strong swimmer, then you want to go with fins that are smaller in size and are flexible. You also want to make sure that the buckles and straps are really easy for you to use. If you're going for open heel fins, while they are more expensive, they will provide a higher level of comfort. This is because you're using dive boots and simply attaching the buckle. If you're diving in tropics or warm water then closed heel boots are the best way to go. They're much simpler than open heel fins and more suited for travel due to being light and well packaged.
