A Subledger, also called a Subsidiary Ledger, is a detailed record that supports a Control Account in the General Ledger. It takes one balance and breaks it down into its individual parts, such as customers, suppliers, employees, inventory items or fixed assets. In this video, I'll explain what Subledgers are, how they relate to the General Ledger, and why businesses use them to keep their accounting records organised and accurate.
