"Art reflects shapes our understanding of the world in incredible ways. Drs. Ryan Petteway, Shanaé Burch, and LeConté J. Dill are experts in how poetry can illuminate and articulate public health stories. Petteway, Burch and Dill hosted STATS and STANZAS at APHA 2025, an event dedicated to sharing poetry and discussing injustice as a public health issue. Drs. Chandra Ford and Derek Griffith joined to discuss their book, Racism: Science & Tools for the Public Health Professional. Petteway, Burch and Dill co-authored two chapters in the book about using poetry to understand racism and other public health issues of injustice."
