"The Longer Tables Fund and George Washington University's Global Food Institute welcomed APHA attendees to Washington, DC with a tour of food systems in the city. Neighborhoods on the eastern side of DC's Anacostia River have historically seen far less funding and development than neighborhoods on the western side. In particular, there is a major disparity in access to grocery stores between these areas. The tour brought APHA attendees to these neighborhoods to meet organizations who work to expand residents' access to good quality food. FRESHFARM, Dreaming Out Loud, and DC Central Kitchen all joined on the tour to share their work."
