Veo 3.1 – In a Class of Its Own? There’s little reason to hide the excitement around Google’s update from Veo 3 to 3.1 – if it weren’t for the steep costs and the persistent challenges in prompt design, including a censorship logic that often feels arbitrary. Veo 3.1 now offers four modes: “Text to Video,” “Image to Video,” “References to Video,” and “Start- and Endframe to Video.” To put things into perspective, three of them are tested against a sparring partner: Seedance Pro, Kling 2.1, and Sora 2 Pro. And when it comes to “References to Video,” Veo 3.1 clearly sets its own standard. In total, I’m sharing twelve examples and six lessons learned from working hands-on with today’s leading video AI platforms. --------------------------- Note: This video is a results-focused walkthrough comparing Veo 3.1, Seedance 1.0 Pro, Kling 2.1, and Sora 2 Pro. All 12 prompts used in the examples are available in the pinned comment (PART 1) and the first comment (PART 2). If you're specifically interested in working with structured master prompts – for tools like Video AI or Nano Banana – feel free to check out the dedicated tutorials I’ve made for those. --------------------------- Chapter 00:37 – Veo 3.1: the full potential 01:41 – Step 1: references to video 03:31 – Step 2: image to video 05:20 – Step 3: start / endframe to video 07:36 – Step 4: text to video 09:18 – Step 5: six lessons – what I’ve learned --------------------------- More topics you might like 8 Lessons I Learned About Video AI – Sora 2 Pro vs Wan 2.5, Seedance Pro, Kling 2.5 Turbo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNA9YlissWs&list=PLJGGabHvBEu3ys5hjioaZL9tsfOBTACiz&index=1 Image to 3D World - Step Into Your Own 3D Image - Marble World Labs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8OhrVkDRN2Y&list=PLJGGabHvBEu3ys5hjioaZL9tsfOBTACiz&index=1 Mastering the 5 Layers of Consistent AI Creation – Prompts, Images, Editing, Video, LipSync https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qy9kfOeIkW0&list=PLJGGabHvBEu3ys5hjioaZL9tsfOBTACiz&index=1 --------------------------- Useful Links Veo (via Flow) - https://labs.google/fx/tools/flow Veo (via Gemini) - https://gemini.google.com/app Veo (via Fal AI) - https://fal.ai/models/fal-ai/veo3.1/image-to-video Sora - https://sora.chatgpt.com/explore Kling - https://klingai.com Seedance Pro (via Fal AI) - https://fal.ai/models/fal-ai/bytedance/seedance/v1/pro/image-to-video ChatGPT - https://chatgpt.com --------------------------- Disclaimer Always follow each platform’s content guidelines when creating prompts.
