Do they make 'em like they used to? In this video I compare a Sonos Connect:Amp to a vintage Marantz 2250B receiver. Honestly, the Connect:Amp sounds pretty good! However, at lower volumes, the Marantz shines with a more balanced sound and crisper highs. At high volumes, the amplifiers sound similar, but the Marantz 2250B can play music even louder than the Connect:Amp. If you're looking for easy wifi streaming from your smartphone in a smaller footprint, the Connect:Amp is an excellent option. But if you have more space and a larger budget, consider a vintage receiver with a wireless adapter!
