Sound of a Woman: Rita Wilson in Conversation with Demi Moore, Plus a Performance

The multi-talented Rita Wilson is releasing her sixth studio album, Sound of a Woman on May 1. Wilson will perform selections from the album and talk with longtime friend and Oscar-nominee Demi Moore about the making of the record and why now was the right time to release this raw, honest body of work as a very private person leading a very public life. Wilson’s soul-baring songwriting on Sound of a Woman is part unfiltered memoir, part nuanced observation of the world around her, exploring the arc of a woman’s life that unfolds as a moving narrative through this collection of songs. At the bloom of her music career, The New York Times noted, “Wilson has a catch in her voice that conveys yearning and potential heartbreak behind a facade of cheer.” Her eclectic musicality includes collaborations such as “Til You’re Home” from A Man Called Otto with Latin GRAMMY winner Sebastián Yatra, which was shortlisted for an Academy Award. “I write from a very personal place,” says Wilson. “Most of the time it starts with something I’m trying to understand in my own life.
