There isn’t a large demand for 8K TVs these days, especially since most manufacturers have largely moved away from producing them. Even 4K content took years to become widespread, and only recently have we seen a solid library of movies, TV shows, and games available in native 4K. Beyond a handful of YouTube videos and some PS5 Pro games, actual 8K content is extremely limited. The advantages of owning an 8K TV are minimal today, as nearly all content needs to be upscaled, and in most cases, it doesn’t look noticeably better than on a good 4K display. Just because an 8K screen has a higher resolution doesn’t necessarily mean it delivers better overall picture quality. While it doesn't achieve the perfect black levels of OLEDs, its local dimming is excellent and delivers deep, impactful blacks—though some haloing around subtitles and highlights can still occur. Out of the box, color accuracy is a bit off, but colors appear vivid and lively, so the overall image doesn’t feel flat or lifeless. HDR content looks particularly striking, with highlights that really stand out on screen, making for an engaging viewing experience. It also has a fairly wide viewing angle for a Mini LED TV, so the image holds up well even when viewed from the side. Fortunately, the upscaling performance is excellent, which is important considering the limited native 8K content. This TV also gets impressively bright and features a matte screen finish, making it ideal for well-lit environments where reflections would otherwise be distracting. Cable management is streamlined thanks to the Wireless One Connect Box, which gives you flexible options for connecting your devices. It includes four HDMI 2.1 ports capable of handling 8K at 120Hz and 4K at 240Hz with VRR support, making it a good choice for those pushing their GPUs to the limit. One trade-off is that the pixel response time is a bit slower compared to OLEDs, so fast-moving content might appear slightly blurred.
