00:00 Newts Eat Nymphs Reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/aquarium_garden/ Blog: All my projects https://website www.fewdoit.com 00:05 October 5th, 2022 I found a nymph in my aquarium with 3 wild caught newts. Apparently, the nymph was on some of the wild plants I brought from the lake along with newts. The nymph has been hidden in the aquarium for a whole week without me noticing it. I am not surprised about it at all. Years back I kept a dragonfly nymph as a pet in one of my aquariums. Dragonfly nymphs are vicious predators and they are very skillful masters of disguise. This about 1 cm long nymph could easily snap in a half a fish twice of its' size. I have plenty of fish in the aquarium to sustain appetite of one nymph for sure. Though, there are 3 adult Eastern Newts in this aquarium. Here is another one. The interesting thing about Eastern newts is that they are also predators feeding only on live food. This small size nymph has a very little chance of surviving in aquarium with newts. And as a matter of fact - this is the first and the only time I've seen the nymph. One of the newts found and ate the nymph. Have fun and happy aquariums :)
