In this video I’m checking out the Ernie Ball string dampener and talking about a super specific problem: extra string noise on a reverse headstock. If you’ve ever noticed weird overtones, behind-the-nut ringing, or just that little bit of “junk” getting into your riffs when you’re playing tight, this is exactly the kind of small fix that can make a big difference. I’m basically looking at whether a simple dampener can clean things up without killing the feel. My takeaway is that this is one of those cheap, low-effort accessories that’s worth trying if you’re chasing tighter tracking and less sympathetic noise—especially for riff-heavy play-through stuff where every little squeak or ring gets exposed.
