I tested the Genmitsu Kiosk 10W from SainSmart as a small, portable laser that’s aimed at quick engraving jobs. Setup was genuinely easy, and running it through LightBurn gave me solid results on plywood, slate, leather tags and keyrings. For the money (around the sub-£200 mark when I recorded, with sales bringing it down), it’s a really capable little unit.

Pros

- +Lift-up lid with proximity safety switch and internal light
- +Portable form factor for events/craft-style work
Cons
- -Small practical working area for larger projects
- -No air assist, so cutting/engraving can scorch more
- -Cutting thicker plywood is slow (3mm needs very low speed/high power)
- -I noticed some belt slack/slipping and would like an easier way to tighten it
